The Opportunity Foundation is a charitable and educational organization that provides financial support and mentorship to disadvantaged and talented minority students.

Each year, The Opportunity Foundation awards up to four $2,500 one-year scholarships. 
These scholarships can be renewed annually pending academic performance and community service during a 4-year matriculation.

The eligibility requirements for scholarship recipients include:

  • Acceptance / Matriculation into a four-year accredited college/university
  • Minimum cumulated GPA of 2.5 (Tier I); Minimum cumulated GPA of 3.5 (Tier II)
  • Proof of registration as a full-time student
  • Completed The Opportunity Foundation scholarship application including essay and letters of recommendation
  • Personal interview
  • Commitment to community service and extra-curricular activities
  • Demonstrated of leadership / team skills
  • Academic and Athletic achievements

Recipients must maintain a GPA of 2.7 or greater to apply to continue their scholarship and must complete the submission of a report at the end of each academic year on their academic results, experiences, and collegiate progress. Upon completion of their collegiate career, scholarship recipients are required to make a presentation outlining how their college experience was impacted by their award.
